What was your BRAVE moment of 2021?
As the end of the year approaches, we naturally find ourselves reflecting on the year.
When this year did you feel like you could conquer it all? When you felt the fear and did it anyway?
I bet you have a lot of brave stories for this year. We often gloss over these and neglect to celebrate our brave moments.
For me, I decided a few years ago that I wanted to try to do a handstand. It had been a very long time since I'd done anything resembling a handstand. And it took me years to get to it. This year was my year, and it felt so amazing, that I recently decided I wanted to try a headstand also. If you're interested in more on my handstand story, it lives here.
I've never done a headstand of any kind before. I've been completely terrified. Way more afraid than the handstand even. Afraid I'd hurt myself mostly, but also afraid I'd never be able to do it. I prepped. I watched videos. I've been chatting with a few people who have worked on their headstand for some tips (thank you so much for those tips!).
I did a headstand on some chairs up against the wall.
Then no chairs up against the wall.
Then, I learned that I could move from Crow Pose to Tripod Headstand. Well, that changed everything. I took flight. I still can't believe it. I keep randomly doing it again around the house just to prove to myself that I am really doing it.
Tripod Headstand is one of my brave moments of 2021.
What's one (or more!) of yours? I'd love to hear about it!
